Before joining Axendia as Vice President, Ms. Matlis was Worldwide Manager for Ergonomics at Johnson & Johnson. In this capacity, Mónica was responsible for providing leadership in establishing and maintaining the J&J EHS Ergonomics global strategy.
Mónica was instrumental in the development of and is a signatory to the Landmark Ergonomics Partnership between Johnson & Johnson and OSHA in July 2003 , as well as the Ergonomics Partnership with Puerto Rico OSHA and Johnson & Johnson in February 2003.
She served as Johnson & Johnson’s main contact for ergonomics, led multiple global teams and networks, directed the J&J global ergonomics programs related to the primary business units, established consistent use of ergonomics programs and guidelines throughout the world.
Mónica has earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Florida International University and a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
